We are revolutionizing the Nepalese Healthcare
National Network for Infectious Diseases Nepal (NNIDN) established in 2022, is a not-for-profit organization, registered with Social Welfare Council, Government of Nepal and focused on combating the challenges of infectious diseases across the country. NNIDN’s major objective is to promote early and exact diagnosis of the infectious agents and appropriate and timely management of the patients with infections, following the antimicrobial stewardship guidelines.
The network has a four dimensional approach to address the major issues of infectious diseases
- Reduce the cases of sepsis (with appropriate and timely intervention of antimicrobials)
- Address the antimicrobial resistance (prevent misuse, overuse, inappropriate use of antimicrobials)
- Address Hospital Infections (reduce hospital admissions, promote early discharge, and promote standard hospital sterilization techniques)
- Repeated use of antibiotics leading to gut microbiota dysbiosis linked with many of the chronic inflammatory conditions (promote further research on this link)
